Job Description

Their Youth Theatre Programme takes place on Saturdays, term time. They are looking for Support Tutors to fulfil the following responsibilities:

  • Support the Lead Tutor with the artistic delivery of the programme. This will be facilitated through planning and evaluation sessions, as well as expected communication throughout the termly programme.

  • Proactiveness! Be able to support the Lead Tutor by taking initiative.

  • Engage participants through modelling of games and exercises and encouraging their participation.

  • To collaborate with the Lead Tutor to refine plans to suit the needs of participants.

  • Communicate well with the Lead Tutor throughout the programme - both verbally and via email.

  • To support the Lead Tutor with safeguarding of the participants and be willing to undertake safeguarding training and an enhanced DBS check.

  • To be flexible and adaptable in a changing environment.

Days of Work:

  • Saturdays Term Time (Starting 28th September with a planning session TBC)

  • JYT = 10am-11:15am

  • MYT = 11:30am-1pm

  • SYT = 1:15pm-3:15pm

Fee:

  • £30 per hour (for the session)

  • £30 for planning, one session per term.

  • £30 for evaluation, one session per term.

Job Requirements

(Desirable)

  • Ability to work well in a team.

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to undergo a check).

  • Good communication skills.

  • Experience of working with young people

  • A knowledge of youth theatre arts

  • A technical skill e.g. Sound editing, prop / costume making etc.
