Guest Director (Youth Theatre)
We’re thrilled that you’re considering joining Icon Theatre as Guest Director (Youth Theatre). This is an opportunity to be part of an award-winning, nationally recognised organisation that’s transforming the theatre and participatory arts landscape for young people in Kent and beyond.
We are looking for a talented and passionate theatre director, experienced in co-creation with young people, to plan and deliver weekly youth theatre sessions from April 2026 to March 2027 (summer 2026, autumn 2026 and spring 2027). The role will support two groups of young people to develop theatre skills and create, rehearse and perform a high-quality theatre production for a public audience in a professional venue.
The Guest Director will be an enthusiastic, creative theatre-maker with a strong, practical understanding of inclusivity and the collaborative ethos that underpins co-creation. They will understand contemporary theatre-making practices and have practical experience of a range of theatrical approaches and techniques.
Job Summary
Fee: £6975 (Plus contribution for travel)
Contract Role: April 2026 – March 2027 (Approx 31 Youth Theatre Sessions)

Location: Gillingham, Medway (Easy Access from London via train)
