Aldridge Youth Theatre seeking a Youth Theatre Leader

The Youth Theatre Leader will supervise and support up to 30 young people taking part in the weekly Youth Theatre.

Weekly Session details are as follows:

  • Monday Evenings from 6:00pm - 9:15pm (3.25 hours)

  • First Stages - Years 2 to 4

  • Seniors - Years 10+

Youth Theatre Leaders will be enthusiastic about drama and the arts, and have a strong commitment to supporting young people.

We are seeking inspiring, dynamic, and enthusiastic individuals, who are confident in engaging with young people of all ages, have experience leading high quality drama workshops and have practical performing arts skills.

The ideal candidates are excellent communicators and motivators, with a passion for theatre making and working with young people and passionate about equal opportunity in the performing arts.

It is an essential role for this charity and offers a unique opportunity to be involved and have influence on a growing arts organisation.

This position is self-sufficient and will therefore require the successful candidate to manage their own time, planning for the delivery of the sessions each week.

The successful candidate will be supported by the Youth Theatre consultant to prepare and devise the content of the sessions and run the session each week.

Job Requirements

Essential

  • Experience working with young people in a theatre setting

  • Enhanced DBS Certificate (or registered to the update service)

  • Committed to Safeguarding the wellbeing of young people, and to understanding and following relevant policies (Safeguarding; Health and Safety)

  • Ability to interact with and inspire young people from a wide variety of backgrounds.

Job Responsibilities

Youth Theatre Leaders will work under the direction of the Youth Theatre Consultant.
The role requires Leaders to be available for all sessions during term time with the potential of running our holiday workshop offering throughout the year.
